  What is a Photo Video?
It is a motion video on a DVD made from still photographs of your special occasions, like wedding, birthdays, holidays, parties and other special events. You can also have your favourite movie clips inter-mingled with your still photographs to create attention grabbing effects.


How is a Photo Video different from a computer slide show?
A special technique is used to change your still photographs into motion scenes with an artistic appeal. Captions and matching audio (music, songs, your own voice) are added to make the show more interesting. Designer labels are put on your Photo Video disc to enhance its appeal. How do I play the Photo Video disc?
You play it just like a DVD disc in your home DVD player on your TV. Different scenes are displayed on your TV as thumbnail pictures for a screen menu. You select the scene you want to play from the screen menu with the arrow buttons on your remote control.


I have my album books already. Why would I want a Photo Video disc?
Most people collect a few hundred photographs from their special occasions. Due to the sheer volume of the albums, they tend to get neglected over time. In a Photo Video, the equivalent of 10 normal album books are contained in a very portable disc, which can be viewed conveniently on a TV in your living room or in a friend's home. You don't need a computer to watch your pictures. And you can easily distribute copies to friends and family members.


How many photographs can I put into a Photo Video disc?
Over 1000 moderately high resolution photos (say 1600x1200) can be put into a Photo Video disc. However, you should consider the “tolerance level” of your audience. Most audience tend to not feel comfortable after watching about 150 to 200 pictures.


Who can make a Photo Video for me?
Artistic Photos In Motion will use the photographs taken by your professional photographer or your friends to create a Photo Video that will bring back happy memories of your special occasion for years to come.


We just came back from our trip to Japan, Korea, China and Hong Kong. We took tons of pictures. What can we do with them?
We can categorize them into different scenes such that if your friends want to see your pictures in Korea, you can pick the thumbnail on Korea and so on. It's a great way to show your pictures without boring them by showing ALL your pictures in one session.


I am in the real estate business. I have photo records of this condo tower from construction to completion. Can you make a Photo Video for my promotion purposes?
You bet. Just let us have your photographs and we can customize the Photo Video to your specifications.


I have some favourite music that I like. Can you put them into my Photo Video?
Absolutely. You can even digitally record your own voice as narration to specific pictures.


What else are on the Photo Video disc?
The video you see on the disc is recorded at DVD resolution. It is good for TV screen viewing, including viewing on large screen TV sets. If you or your friends want to print any of the photographs, high resolution version of the photographs are also stored on the disc. Just take the disc to a photo finishing store (e.g. London Drugs, Future Shop, Wal-Mart, etc) and you and your friends can order prints of any size.


I have friends in Australia and Hong Kong whom I want to send my discs. Can they view it on their TV?
The Photo Video disc is produced in the NTSC format for viewing in North America. You can request that additional discs be produced in the PAL format for viewing in European, Australian and Asian countries.


How do I give you my photographs?
On a CD you burned yourself or scanned and burned by your photo finishing store (e.g. London Drugs, Future Shop), on a memory card from your camera, or by email attachments.

What kind of files do you need?
You normally don't have to worry about your file formats. Other than some proprietary formats, we can accept almost all file formats generated by your digital cameras or scanners. For the technically inclined, here are the acceptable formats:
Image: BMP, EPS, JPG, PCX, PGM, PICT, PNG, TGA, TIF, WMF.
Video: AVI, MOV, MPG, WMV.
Audio: CDA, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA.


How much do I have to pay?
The production cost of your special Photo Video is $400. This includes minor digital enhancement and rendering of up to 200 still photographs into motion video with music. On completion, you get 4 DVD Photo Video discs with designer labels for your keep sake. Click here to see prices of other options.


What if I want more Photo Video discs?
You are free to reproduce your own DVD discs.

How long does it take?
Under normal circumstances, your Photo Video can be produced in 2 to 3 weeks. If our work load permits, we can oblige a rush job without additional charge. Just contact us on your requirements.
